Principal's Message

Hello Westwood Families!

Welcome to Westwood Elementary! My name is Chris Kenroy, and I am extremely honored to be the principal here at Westwood. I am so excited for the start of the school year, and I cannot wait to meet/get to know all of the Westwood students and their families. I truly believe that education should be partnership between our school and your home, and I will work hard to foster that relationship.

I was raised and graduated from high school in Mason, Michigan. After graduating high school, I earned my bachelor’s degree from Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Illinois. After college, my wife and I moved to San Antonio, Texas so that she could continue her schooling, and so I could start my first teaching job. While in San Antonio, I earned my master’s degree in educational administration from Lamar University. In San Antonio, I was a fifth grade teacher for eight years before moving into the role of an administrator at an elementary school in San Antonio for three years. My time spent in San Antonio was a great experience, but I am beyond excited to be back home amongst family and friends as an educator in my home state.

In my free time, I love spending time exploring new things with my wife Kristen and my daughter Addison. I am also a huge Michigan State fan, and I am looking forward to attending as many Spartan games as possible. Golf is also something I enjoy, and I am hoping to get out on the golf course a little as the weather permits.

Please know that I am truly honored to be a part of your child’s educational journey. If you ever need anything please do not hesitate to give me a call, send me an email, or just stop by and see me. My office door is always open so please don’t hesitate to stop by and say hello if you are nearby. I am looking forward to a fantastic school year.
